What is Reiki?
From the International Association of Reiki Professionals: “Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means ‘Universal Life’ and (Ki) which means ‘Energy’. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.”
Reiki can be performed on all patients, including adults, children, and even pets. It is a great technique to reduce stress and can be very relaxing. Bhadra, at Oak Hill Wellness Center, is a Master level Reiki practitioner. She has been practicing for 6 years on herself, her family, friends, clients, and pets. Reiki can be performed in person or via distance healing, so the client may choose if they prefer a hands on or hands off technique.
What is Emotional Freedom Technique?
From Gary Craig, Founder: “Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT (often known as Tapping or EFT Tapping), is a universal healing tool that can provide impressive results for physical, emotional, and performance issues. EFT operates on the premise that no matter what part of your life needs improvement, there are unresolved emotional issues in the way. Even for physical issues, chronic pain, or diagnosed conditions, it is common knowledge that any kind of emotional stress can impede the natural healing potential of the human body.”
What does a session with Bhadra look like?
Bhadra uses her intuition and feelings to get to the heart of her clients’ issues. After a few minutes of consultation, she is guided to use Reiki, EFT, or other energy work to help them release blocks or beliefs that are standing in the way of healing. She guides clients through exercises that help them find their own intuitive responses, and reminds them that using emergent emotions like gratitude and positive thoughts are great catalysts to healing. She always gives homework to help clients make the most of their session, and follows up with them after a few days to encourage momentum.
